Meet Our Veterinarians
Dr. Allen Meyer
Education: Kansas State University, 1973-1980
Dr. Meyer founded Meyer Veterinary Clinic in 1986, fulfilling his lifelong passion for veterinary medicine. With decades of experience, he has provided expert care and guidance to pet owners throughout the Cadillac area. Outside the clinic, Dr. Meyer enjoys spending time outdoors, cutting wood, and visiting with friends and family. He and his wife, Susan, have three children who share his love for animals.
Dr. Deborah Brinkman
Education: University of Wisconsin/Madison Veterinary School, 1988
Dr. Brinkman has been an integral part of Meyer Veterinary Clinic for many years, bringing a wealth of experience and a gentle touch to every patient she treats. She is known for her compassionate approach to veterinary care. In her free time, she enjoys swimming, reading, and spending time with her family. At home, she cares for a diverse group of animals, including goats, cows, cats, and dogs.
Dr. Sarah Seguin
Education: Michigan State University, 2008
Born and raised in Cadillac, MI, Dr. Seguin returned home after earning her veterinary degree to serve the pets of northern Michigan. She has a special interest in preventative care and diagnostics and loves helping pets live long, happy lives. Outside work, she enjoys the great outdoors—swimming, kayaking, hiking, and camping with her husband, Eric, and their Labrador retrievers.
Dr. Sarah Nelson
Education: Michigan State University, 2017
Dr. Nelson discovered her love for veterinary medicine early on while growing up in Cass City, Michigan. She is passionate about pet wellness, emergency care, and surgery. When she’s not at the clinic, she enjoys going to the movies, spending time with her husband, Jarret, and caring for their beloved pets—two cats, Parmesan and Reggiano, and two dogs, Gus and Winnie.
Dr. Kelley Hughston
Education: University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine, 2019
Dr. Hughston’s love for animals and veterinary medicine brought her from Tennessee to northern Michigan, where she now provides expert care at Meyer Veterinary Clinic. She specializes in orthopedic and soft-tissue surgery and enjoys working with large and small animals alike. At home, she spends time with her husband, Ty, their four horses, and their dog, Ripp. She loves horseback riding, spending time on the lake, and exploring the outdoors.
Dr. Emily Thiel
Education: St. George’s University, Grenada, 2021
Dr. Smith’s global veterinary experience and background in emergency medicine make her a valuable part of our team. After working in Virginia, she traveled across 24 countries with her fiancé and their two dogs before settling in Cadillac. She enjoys camping, hiking, and backpacking when she’s not at the clinic, always staying close to nature and animals.
